Day 258/365 – Farmer’s Market at Socrates Park
It is fun to stumble upon Farmer’s Markets. It’s great to walk around, talk to the vendors, take photos, sample items but mostly to purchase and support the local guys. We happened upon one at Socrates Sculpture Park in Astoria/Long Island City on Saturday. Small compared to most but the park itself was bustling with activities.
Besides the Vendors, there was also some guys brewing fresh coffee (delish) and another tent set up from a local restaurant. Off in the far end of the park, they were setting up for a Circus.. Yes, a CIRCUS!! You just never know what’s going on in your neighbourhood, unless you explore.
It was a beautiful day. We bought Beets and Duck Proscuitto.. YUM!!
Venture into a Farmer’s Market if you stumble upon one, you just never know what you’ll find or who you’ll meet..
